On October 16, Ghanaian police discovered the body of Cheikh Touré, an 18-year-old goalkeeper from Senegal, in a hospital morgue in the city of Kumasi.

The man, named only as Issah, who brought him there said it was an accident, but police found severe wounds to his abdomen. The boy had been severely beaten and tortured.

Tragically, the Sports and Crime Briefing confirmed that a number of other players from Senegal are still being held in Ghana, with little to no information as to their whereabouts.
